Military Record: Appointed Ocotber 1, 1861 from North Carolina Acting Midshipman CSN. To midshipman, Provisional CSN June 2, 1864. Passed midshipman at unknown date. On Morgan and Tuscaloosa (Mobile, Al Squadron) 1862-63; Patrick Henry, Virginia No. 2, and Richmond (all James River Squadron) 1864; CSS Webb (lower Mississippi River) 1865. Captured April 25, 1865 near New Orleans, Louisiana after Webb was destroyed to prevent her capture. Held at Ft Columbus, NY. Released June 10, 1865. Post War Career: US records list his residence as Annapolis County and describe him as 5'8", light complexion, gray eyes, brown hair. County clerk, Napa County, California. Worked in Customs House, San Francisco, California. Died- ? |
