Biography & Genealogy:Louis Bryan Morel, Class of 1864: Born- c1843. Matriculated from Atlanta, Ga. At VMI 6 weeks. Military Record: Drill Master with Brig Gen R.S. Garnett in western Va 1861 and then with 31st Virginia. Applied July 26, 1861 for cadetship in CS Army. Enlisted July 26, 1862 at Harrisburg for 2 years ass Private, Capt J.W. Carter's Company Virginia Horse Artillery (Capt R.P. Chew's Company; Capt J.W. Thompson's Company). In hospital (contrusion) Decembber 17-30, 1864. To Lt at unknown date. Captured April 3, 1865. Paroled April 20, 1865. Signed parole May 4, 1865 at Charles Town, West Virginia. Post War Career: Broker. Lived in New Orleans, La. Died- September 17, 1910 in Tallahassee, Fl.
