|Biography & Genealogy:||Garner Charles Horace, Class of 1864-MS: Born- circa 1842. Matriculated from Mobile, Al. At VMI 4 weeks. At UVA 1859-61. Entered service and elected 1st Lt, Company B, 32nd Alabama at Mobile, Alabama March 4, 1862. To Captain June 16, 1862 (date of rank June 12). Submitted resignation November 15, 1862. Colonel indorsed that he was "unfitted for the service" because he could not stand enemy fire. Resignation effective December 18 1862. Later Ordinance Sergeant on staff of Brigadier General C.M. Shelly and paroled as such May 1, 1865 at Greensboro, North Carolina. Post War Career: Cotton manufacturer. Died: March 26, 1869 in Mobile, Al.|
