Biography & Genealogy:Henry J. Fisher, Class of 1864MS: Born- 1846. Matriculated from Ft. Pleasant, West Virginia. At VMI 4 weeks. Military Record: unofficial source says he was in an unspecified regimental band after leaving VMI; may have been the "H.J. Fisher" arrested in West Virginia by US soldiers during the summer of 1861 and held briefly at Camp Chase, Ohio; Enlisted Feb. 5, 1863 at Princeton, WV for war as a private with Company A, 36th Virginia; fined 1 month of pay by court martial in fall 1863; April-October 1864 roll shows "Transferred as Musician;" captured early summer 1864 and held at Camp Morton, Indiana until released on oath Feb. 24, 1865. Post War Career: Lawyer. Died- June 1, 1887 in Chicago, Illinois.
