Biography & Genealogy:	Military record: Civil War- Entered service 16 May 1861 as 1st Lt., Co. D., 8th North Carolina Infantry. Captured at Roanoke Island 8 Feb 1862. Paroled at Elizabeth City, NC 21 Feb 1862. Exchanged August 1862. Slightly WIA 17 Dec 1862 at Neuse River Bridge. On detached service summer-fall 1863. Promoted to Captain 7 June 1864. Captured 30 September 1864 at Ft. Harrison. Held at Old Capitol Prison, Washington DC, and Ft. Delaware. Released on oath 17 June 1865. Description: 5' 10", dark complexion, dark eyes, dark hair.
