Paternal grandparents- James Logan and Hannah Irvine; Maternal grandparents- William Lee and Jane Payne. Marriage/children: never married; uncle of John L. and George Logan, Class of 1867. VMI record: Entered VMI Nov. 11, 1839 from Rockbridge Co.; first person to sign VMI matriculation book; resigned June 15, 1841. Military record: none. Career: after leaving VMI was teacher in Culpeper Co., where he lived with his brother Dr. Joseph P. Logan; Divinity student at Alexandria (VA) Theological Seminary, 1845-1846. Died at Chancellorsville, VA, of fever, in September 1846, while returning to Seminary; buried on his brother's land, Raccoon Ford, Culpeper Co., VA|
