VMI Record: Entered VMI- Aug. 11, 1860; Left ca. May, 1861 to join Confederate Army; Made Honorary Graduate of the Class of 1864 in 1869. Civil War Record: Left on guard at VMI in April, 1861; Drill Master at Harper's Ferry; Enlisted May 15, 1861 at Allegheny; Assigned to the 27th Virginia Infantry, June 2, 1861 and carried on roll as "cadet", Co. B. Killed in action at the 1st Manassas while acting as Co. commander. Died- July 21, 1861, Killed in action.
