Grandmother- Anne Casson Alexander (b. 1781 d. 1831). Mat. Grandfather- Judge John Scott (b. 1781 d. 1850); Mat. Grandmother- Elizabeth B. Pickett (b. 1788 d. 1862). Married- [Wife's name unknown]. Children- 1- Violet Morson; 2- William Morson; 3- Gordon Morson. Brother of John S. Morson (VMI 1864MS); brother-in-law of Scott Shipp (VMI 1859 & 2nd VMI Superintendent); several cousins attended. Entered VMI- March 27, 1862; Graduated June 27, 1864 standing 9 in a class of 62. Civil War Service- 2nd Lieut. of Co. A. of the Corps of VMI Cadets during the Battle of New Market, May 15, 1864; Appointed 2nd Lieut. and assigned as Drill Master to the Va. Reserve Forces Aug. 1, 1864. No further record of service found after that. Careers- Tobacconist and farmer in St. Louis and Cincinnati. Died- June 9, 1903 in Newport, KY. Buried Evergreen Cemetery (Southgate, Campbell County, Kentucky).|
