|Biography & Genealogy:||Minor Kenner Jr., Class of 1864: Born- December 19, 1842. Matriculated from Kenner, La. At VMI 1 year. Military Record: Drill Master, Richmond spring 1861. Enlisted March 6, 1862 at New Orleans, La for 90 days as Private, 5th Company Washington (La) Artillery of New Orleans. Appears to have served as such through Perryville Campaign. Appointed Cadet Reserve Army Confederate States (probably at request of his uncle Congressman D.F. Kenner). Seems to have served with Capt L.G. Marshall's Company Tennessee Artillery and then to have spent rest of war on engineering duty in Department of the Gulf. To 2nd Lt June 1864. Surrendered with forces of Lt Gen R. Taylor. Paroled May 13, 1865. Post War Career: Accountant. Died- 1888 in Ascension Parish, La. 5'7" light complexion, gray eyes, light hair.|
