Biography & Genealogy: | Wiley Adam Clement, Class of 1864: Born- 16 May 1840. Matriculated from Mocksville, NC. At VMI 3 and 1/2 months. At UNC from 1859-1860. Military Record: Entered state service at Mocksville, NC on 26 April 1861 for 1 year as a 2nd Lt, Company F, 13th North Carolina (originally 3rd North Carolina Volunteers). In the spring of 1862 he had raised his own company and had tendered resignation. Appointed Capt, Company F, 42nd North Caroina on 21 March 1862. On court martial duty in Wilmington, NC during February 1864. Unofficial source says he was wounded in action June 1864. Paroled at Greensboro, NC on 1 May 1865. Post War Career: Farmer, Lawyer, Court Clerk Died- June 1902 |
