|Biography & Genealogy:||Urquhart Kenneth McKenzie, Class of 1863: Born- September 12, 1841. Matriculated from Ivor, Va. At VMI 2 1/2 years (entered as a sophomore). Military Record: Drill Master, Richmond spring 1861. Enlisted February 23, 1864 at Ivor for war. Assigned as Pvt to Company E, 9th Va. Seriously wounded in action (jaws) May 16, 1864 at Drewry's Bluff. In hospital (Richmond, Petersburg). Wrote of his wound as "impairing my powers of mastication to such an extent that I am unable subsist on army board." No further record found. Post War Career: Lumber business; farmer. Died- June 26, 1926 in Norfolk.|
