Paternal grandparents: William Sydnor and Mary Kirk; maternal grandparents: Thomas Conway and Hannah Middleton; Marriage: to Miranda Evelyn Burgess, daughter of Col. Samuel B. Burgess and Frances Elizabeth Coles of Northumberland Co., on April 26, 1877. No children. VMI Record: Entered VMI on August 12, 1859, listing his guardian as Willaim A. Hudnall and his address as Burgess Store, VA; cadet drillmaster in Richmond, Spring/Summer 1861; declared honorary graduate in 1869. Military Record: Enlisted October 1861 as a Private, Company D, 9th Virginia Cavalry. Career: Physician [received medical degree in 1874 from College of Physicians and Surgeons in Baltimore]; member Virginia House of Delegates, 1904; farmer. Death: At his home near Burgess Store, VA, on September 20, 1919.|
