Biography & Genealogy:	Starke Edward Butler, Class of 1863: Born- 1843. Matriculated from New Orleans, La. At VMI 2 years. Military Record: Drill Master, Richmond spring 1861. With 7th Virginia at First Manassas where he was Wounded in action (knee). Joined 7th Va October 5, 1861. Appointed Adjutant May 1, 1862. Won praise for "efficiency and gallantry" at Williamsburg May 5, 1862. Mortally Wounded in Action May 31, 1862 at Seven Pines. Died- July 17, 1862 in Richmond hospital.
