Enlisted for war March 12, 1862 at Craney Island as Private, Company G, 6th Virginia. Detailed spring 1862 to drill recruits in hospital (Richmond) June 30-August 1, 1862 (gonorrhoea). In hospital October 5, 1862-January 8, 1863 (contusion). Transferred to Company H, 38th Va October 8, 1862. In hospital (Richmond) May 4-June 20, 1864 )(rheumatism). Admitted to hospital in Petersburg April 1, 1865 and captured there April 3. Paroled may 5, 1865. Post War Career: Worked for steamship company, Baltimore, Maryland where he died. Died- January 17, 1918 in Baltimore, Maryland.|
