|Biography & Genealogy:||Edward Pegram Scott, Class of 1863: Born- November 26, 1840. Matriculated from Hicksford, Va. At VMI 1 year, 2 months. Military Record: Elected 2nd Lt of and entered service June 6, 1861 at Hicksford with Company F, 12th Va. Absent sick or wounded much of 1862 (no details in records). To Capt September 29, 1863 (date of rank May 1). Slightly wounded in action (left leg) and captured at Burgess' Mill Ocotber 27, 1864. Held at Capitol Prison (DC). On February 10, 1865 at request of his grand-uncle US Lt Gen W. Scott, President Lincoln ordered his release on condition that he report to Scott in New York and "subject himself to such restrictions and limitations as the General may deem proper to impose." In Richmond March 1865 on special parole. Post War Career: Planter. Died- February 11, 1878 in Longview, Tx.|
