Grandfather- Arthur Moseley; Pat. Grandmother- Sallie Perkins. Mat. Grandfather- Alasander Trent; Mat. Grandmother- Mary Wilson. Married- 1st- Rosa Lowe of LaGrange, Ga.; 2nd- Mary Murphy, daughter of David Murphy of Fayetteville, NC. Children- 1- Edgar Fearn Moseley (1st Marriage) 2- Rev. Thomas Lowe Moseley (1st Marriage); 3- Julian Lacy Mosley (2nd Marriage) 4- David Murphy Moseley (2nd Marriage). Entered VMI July 30, 1859; Left after 2 years to join the Confederate Army, but had stayed as a Drill Master for newer cadets right at the beginning of the Civil War. Was made an Honorary Graduate of the Class of 1863 on July 2, 1869. Civil War Service- Enlisted June 19, 1861 as Lieut. of Co. E of the 21st Va. Regiment. Post War Career- Teacher, Principal of the Georgia Academy. Died- June 16, 1885 in Mexia, Texas. Buried Mexia Cemetery, Limestone Co., Texas. Grave location: From entrance gate turn left onto the second road and proceed 225 feet. Family plot is on the right, adjacent to the road and near a large tree. |
