Enlisted November 8, 1861 as Private, Company I, 4th Alabama as substitute (some records show other dates). Unofficial source says slightly Wounded in Action at Antietam. Wounded in Action July 2, 1863 at Gettysburg (groin). Picked up by Federals. Paroled at City Point (now Hopewell). In hospital Petersburg September 1863. Retired from field service. January-February 1865 roll shows ordered to report to post commandant, Huntsville, Al. Unofficial source says served as scout. On February 10 1865 admitted to Wayside Hospital, Meridian, Ms. Post War Career: Civil engineer, lawyer, mineralogist. Episcopal. Died- April 1917 Birmingham, Al.|
