|Biography & Genealogy:||George Jones Kollock Jr. Born- August 4, 1842. Matriculated from Savannah, Ga. At VMI 1 year and 9 months. Military Record: Enlisted at Savannah, Ga as Private, Lt J.F. Waring's County Ga Cavalry ("Georgia Hussars") for brief service in summer 1861. Enlisted in Savannah, Ga October 11, 1861 in unit that became Company B, 18th Georgia Battalion (Original enlistment 6 months extended March 1, 1862 for war.) Present for duty on all rolls until OCtober 10, 1862 when detailed for duty with Signal Corps. On signal duty in coastal Georgia area until Savannah evacuated December 1864. Surrendered and paroled at Greensboro, North Carolina May 1, 1865. Post War Career: Physician. Died November 14, 1881 in Savannah, Ga.|
