Biography & Genealogy:	Hall John Taylor, Class of 1863: Born- 1842. Matriculated from Point Pleasant (WV). At VMI 1 year and 6 months. From a strong Unionist Family and father played strong role in formation of West Virginia. Military Record: Entered service for 3 years October 31, 1861 at Point Pleasant in 4th WV (originally 4th Va [US]). To Major. Submitted resignation July 10 1862 because of family concerns and father's health. Withdrew resignation July 25. Killed in action (some reports say MWIA) in skirmish in Logan County before paperwork completed on resignation. Died- August 6, 1862 in Logan County.
