Biography & Genealogy:	Goodwyn McGavock R., Class of 1863: Born- November 23, 1841. Matriculated from New Orleans, La. At VMI 1 year. Military Service: Entered service June 8, 1861 in New Orleans, La as Capt, Company C, 7th La Battalion (became Company K, 15th La). To Major June 24, 1862. To Lt Col August 30, 1862 (some records show May 17, 1863 with Drop on Request October 14, 1862). Wounded in Action May 31, 1862 at Seven Pines and at Chancellorsville and Cedar Creek. On staff of Lt Gen J.A. Early fall 1864. On court martial duty early 1865. Paroled Charleston, WV May 24, 1865. Died- June 21, 1875 in New Orleans.
