Held at Old Capitol Prison, Washington DC,and Johnston's Island, Ohio. Released on oath June 18, 1865. 5'8 1/2", fair complexion, hazel eyes, dark hair.Marriage: To Beth Person of Newsom, Greensville Co., VA, in 1872; Issue: 3 daughters and one son (died 1905). Post-war Career: Farmer; revenue commissioner in Greensville County. Died: April 25, 1919 at the residence of his son-in-law, Dr. Fenton D. Drewry, Virgilina, Halifax Co., Va.
