Biography & Genealogy:	Gibbs John Tracy Jr., Class of 1863: Born- July, 31, 1843. Matriculated from Lexington, Va. At VMI 8 months. Military Record: Enlisted April 29, 1861 at Lexington for 1 year as a Private, Capt A. Graham's Company Va Light Artillery (1st Rockbridge Artillery). Re-enlisted for 2 years February 23, 1862 ($50 bounty). To Corporal November 1, 1862. WIA (foot) at Port Republic. To hospital (Richmond) August 1864 with "remittant fever." Contracted diptheria from which he died. His Capt called him "one of the best and bravest soldiers in my company." Died- September 6, 1864 and buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Richmond.
