|Biography & Genealogy:||Henry H. Christmas, Class of 1863: Born- ca. 1842. Matriculated from Tallula, Ms. At VMI 6 months. Military Record: Dismissed from VMI on Jan. 28, 1860, for neglect of duty. Identification uncertain, but seems to have been the man appointed June 1861, as Assistant Commissary, 18th Ms. Resigned Aug. 1, 1861. At unknown date appointed 1st Lt. and assigned to 8th Tx. By March 20, 1863, detailed as ordnance officer of post at Lavaca, Tx. Referred to late 1863-early 1864 as Capt., commanding artillery battery (probably that which was part of 8th Tx.). Return March 31, 1865, shows as Capt., ordnance officer Maj. Gen. J. A. Wharton's Cavalry Corps. VMI man killed in accident. Post War Career: Planter. Died- ca. 1878.|
