Biography & Genealogy:	Theodore Bethea, Class of 1863. Born- 29 August 1842. Matriculated from Montgomery, AL. At VMI 4 and a 1/2 months. Military Record: Enlisted 7 March 1862 in Montgomery, AL for 3 years or the war as Pvt in Capt R.W. Goldthwaite's (Alabama) Battery. Absent sick late 1862. Discharged 28 January 1863. Appointed 2nd Lt and Drillmaster on 7 January 1863 (Date of rank 19 December 1862). Assigned to post, Talladega, AL. Elected 1st Lt, Company E, 62nd Alabama on 18 January 1864 (1st Alabama Res; Lockhart's Alabama Battalion). Killed in action at Chehaw, AL opposing US cavalry raid. Career: Teacher. Died- Killed in action on 18 July 1864 in Chehaw, AL opposing a US cavalry raid.
