To 1st Sergeant at unknown date. Discharged October 27, 1862 as too near-sighted for service. Appointed June 13, 1863 Captain, Assistant Commissary, 37th Texas Cavalry (Col A.W. Terrell's Regiment) and assigned as Assistant Commissary, Matagorda, Tx. Post War Career: Married Laura C. Files 1864. Merchant; stockraiser; public official. Represented 9th District (Harris, Montgomery, Walker, and Trinity counties) in Texas state Senate 1891-92. Mason and Democrat. 5'10", dark complexion, gray eyes, dark hair. Died- March 17, 1913.|
