|Biography & Genealogy:||William T. Fry, Class of 1862: Born- ca. 1840. Matriculated from Port Republic, VA. At VMI 1 1/2 years. Military Record: appointed 1st Lieutenant, 1st Virginia on April 27, 1862; to adjutant on May 3, 1862; Brigadier General J.L. Kemper requested him as Assistant Adjutant General on June 12, 1862; appointed Captain and Kemper's Assistant Adjutant General on June 14, 1862; on Kemper's staff until at least September of 1864 (last record on file) when Kemper was commanding Virginia Reserve forces; Fry's "good conduct" at Frazier's Farm won him praise; Wounded in Action at Gettysburg on July 3, 1863. Post War Career: Cotton business. Died- ca. 1898 in New Orleans, Louisiana.|
