Biography & Genealogy: | Thomas Verney Robinson, Class of 1861: Born- ca. 1840 probably in Richmond or Petersburg, Va. Father- William Murray Robinson; Mother- Sarah A. Mills. Pat. Grandfather- Dr. Thomas Verney Robinson; Pat. Grandmother- Ann Murray, daughter of William Murray. Mat. Grandfather- Nicholas Mills; Mat. Grandmother- Sarah Donald. Some records say he was decended from Pocahontas. Never married, no children (joined the priesthood). Entered VMI- Aug. 18, 1857; Dismissed April 26, 1858 for neglect of duties. Later attended the College of William & Mary 1858-59. Civil War Service- Enlisted June 17, 1861 at Yorktown in Capt. L.F. Jones' Company of the Virginia Artillery (Co. K 1st Va. Artillery, 2nd. Co. also known as the Richmond Howitzers). Career- Paulist Priest of the Roman Catholic Church. Died- Feb. 19, 1903. More information in web resource. |
