Probably the man who enlisted at Lynchbubrg May 10, 1861 as Private, Capt J.J. Shoemaker's Cavalry Virginia Horse Artillery (Beauregard Rifles; Lynchburg Beauregards; Beauregards Artillery; Capt M.N. Moorman's Company. Sergeant. Absent without leave 8 days August 1861 ($10 fine). In hospital Lynchburg August 1861 (Vulnus Sclopeticum). Died- August 1862.
