Biography & Genealogy:	Yelverton Neal Oliver, Class of 1861: Born- March 22, 1843. Matriculated from Big Lick (now Roanoke). At VMI 5 months. Military Record: Entered service May 13, 1861 for 1 year as 1st Lt, Company I, 28th Va. On sick leave late 1861. Unofficial source says home sick until 1864. At unknown date in 1864 enlisted as Private, Company C, 2nd Virginia Cavalry. Unofficial source says detailed as courier. Killed in action at Tom's Brook. Died- October 9, 1864 at Tom's Brook.
