Military Record: Appointed 2nd Lt Provisional Army Va April 20, 1861. Drill master. On July 2, 1861 requested orders to join Brig Gen J.B. Floyd's brigade as Drill Master. Appointed 2nd Lt Provisional Army CS May 24, 1862 (Date of rank May 22). Assigned as Drill Master to 4th Regiment Va Heavy Artillery which became 34th Va. Sick (dysentary, anemia) in hospital (Danville) summer 1864 and December 1864. Paroled at Apomattox. Post War Career: Farmer. Died- May 31, 1905 Chase City, Va.
