Biography & Genealogy:Greenlaw Lawrence D, Class of 1861: Born- January 15, 1840. Matriculated from King George County Court House, Va. At VMI 10 months over 2 years (entered as a freshman) Military Record: To Memphis, Tn. Entered service there April 26, 1861 for 1 year as 1st Lt, Company A, (Col J.K. Walker's) 2nd Tn. Wounded in action at Shiloh. Elected Captain May 11, 1862 at re-organization. Unit consolidated with others July 1862 to form 9th (5th)CS, and his company became Company D. Severly wounded in action (leg) and captured December 31, 1862 at Stones River. Held at Camp Morton, In until sent for exchange April 29, 1863. Unfit for field duty. Commanded post at Calhoun and Cuthbert, Ga 1863-1865. Post War Career: Clerk, merchant, photographer. Died- Hazelhurst, Ms February 23, 1910.
