|Biography & Genealogy:||David Pierce Graham, Class of 1861: Born- October 24, 1838. Matriculated from Graham Forge, Va. At VMI 1 year and 1 month. Military Record: Helped organize a company at Graham Forge and elected Captain when it entered service at Wytheville July 31, 1861 for 1 year as Company H, 51st Va. Absent sick fall of 1862. Detached early 1863 to command post at White Sulpher Springs. To Major October 8, 1863 (Date of rank July 8). On February 29, 1864 submitted regignation (accepted April 23) to manage family iron works which did extensive work for CS government. Unofficial source says staff officer for Brig Gen G.C. Wharton (Class of 1847) at unknown time. Post War Career: Farmer, miner, and iron manufacturer. Lived in Bluefield, WV. Died- November 5, 1898 in Bluefield, WV.|
