Biography & Genealogy:	James Edward Dabney, Class of 1858. Born- 1838 in King William County, VA. Matriculated from Point Eastern, VA. At VMI 1 year, 1 month. Military Record: Identification speculative, but he may have been the "James E. Dabney," a 22-year old native of King William County and a clerk, who enlisted on Apr. 21, 1861 as Private, Company I, 1st Virginia; Served until May 16, 1863 when he put in a substitute. Post War Career: Farmer. His mind "gave way" and he lived in an asylum for several years. Known to have been alive in 1904. Died- unknown.
