Civil War Service- Enlisted May 17, 1861 at Lynchburg, Va. Appointed 1st. Lieut. of Co. B 24th Va. Infantry. Appointed Adjutant May 23, 1861. Elected Commonwealth's Attorney for Franklin Co. May 1864. Resigned from C.S.A. June 1864. Career- Lawyer (Law partner of former Gen. Jubal A. Early); Commonwealth Attorney; Member of Va. Legislature. Died- Oct. 3, 1878.
