|Biography & Genealogy:||Wise Lewis Washington, Class of 1867: Born- November 4, 1844. Matriculated from Richmond, Va. At VMI 13 1/2 months over 2 years. Military Record: At VMI November 21, 1862-January 1, 1864. Enlisted January 30, 1864 at Adams Run, South Carolina for war in 46th Va ($50 bounty). On August 1864 roll Sgt Maj. Seriously wounded in action July 30, 1864 at the Crater. Sick in brigade hospital December 1864. Applied for cadetship in army December 1864. Unofficial source says captured on retreat from Petersburg. Held at Point Lookout, Maryland. Released on oath June 24, 1865. Post War Career: Investor (railroads). Married Martha Allen Wilson 1896. Episcopal. Died- April 5, 1917 in Richmond. Buried in Hollywood Cemetery there. Nephew of Va Governor and CS Brig Gen H.A. Wise.|
