VMI Record: Entered VMI- Jan. 18, 1862; Dismissed Aug. 21, 1862 for culpable neglect; reinstated in late 1862, but left again in early 1863. Military Record: Private in the Confederate States Naval Battalion; probably the "S.P. Akin" on an undated list of POWs. Careers: Railroad paymaster; Deputy Sheriff of Greenville, Miss. Died- Sept. 6, 1919.
